Women of the World...Unite! (meeow)
Posted:Thursday, 11/06/2008 at 11:11am by Megan Reed
I'm a bit perturbed....I knew this would happen....the celebration would give way to catty comments about Michelle Obama's
election night dress.
Women of the world, we should be judging each other on character, not on wardrobe choices. Can we support each other instead of snidely ripping apart a woman's hairstyle, dress, shoes?
Don't we have bigger issues at hand? Let's retract the claws so we don't stab each other when we high five!

If you vote today and show proof you can get quite the sugar and caffeine buzz from
Starbucks, Ben and Jerry and Krispy Kreme!
That is exactly what I need to keep me up through the wee hours for all of the election coverage!

I'm a Boo Humbug!
Posted:Friday, 10/24/2008 at 12:10pm by Megan Reed
I apologize for being a "Boo Humbug." I think that as the kids get older and they can more easily determine real from fake, I'll enjoy the season a bit more. It also makes me a little sad because my kids have gone from being superheroes and a princess to dressing as cloaked death eaters (whatever they are) and a goth girl. Doesn't anyone want to be a hobo or a 70's hipster anymore?
For me, Halloween has bloated from one frightful day into a season of too much sugar and gruesome decor....but the kids love it! Picking out a costume and trick or treating with friends is fun - I agree. But there are a few houses in the neighborhood that go over the top in their gory decor and are kind of scary - too scary for some little ones. Since my kids were old enough to talk I've been riding a fine line of what is good, scary fun and what will give them nightmares (and keep us up all night). I love a good haunted house, but I can't do it until the kids are older. Therefore,
these haunted houses
are off limits to me. Unless I sneak out with some adults, I'm a few years away. So you can check them out and I'll live vicariously through you!
Enjoy your weekend!

various locations

Does Anyone Ever Really Win a Debate?
Posted:Wednesday, 10/08/2008 at 10:10am by Megan Reed
And do they change your mind?
I have a friend who is completely undecided on this election. It's a foreign concept to me because my mind has been made up virtually from the beginning. She watches the debates hoping to get a clear cut idea for whom to vote. I watch just to solidify my decision. With that being said, where do you fall? Decided or undecided? I don't want to know who you'll be voting for - that's a personal decision. I just wonder if there are more decided than not and if the debates sway you one way or another. If you care to comment, please do!
I just moved. One of the first things I did was change my voter's registration. I don't want to miss out! If you need help finding a polling place you will find
this
helpful.
Here's to the red, white and blue!
